How to Prepare for IELTS in 4 Weeks
This is a demo post created to check how content pasted from Microsoft Word looks on the live site. It mixes underlined text, bold italic, a link to our preparation page, lists, a table and a quote.
1. Understand the test format
The IELTS test has four sections. Plan your study time around each of them:
- Listening – 30 minutes plus transfer time
- Reading – 60 minutes, three passages
- Academic: longer, more technical texts
- General Training: everyday and workplace texts
- Writing – two tasks in 60 minutes
- Speaking – a short face-to-face conversation
2. Follow a weekly plan
- Week 1 – take a practice test and find your weak areas
- Week 2 – focus on Listening and Reading strategies
- Week 3 – practise Writing Task 1 and Task 2 with feedback
- Week 4 – full mock test and Speaking practice
Sample study schedule
Day | Activity | Time |
Monday | Listening practice | 1 hour |
Wednesday | Writing Task 2 | 1.5 hours |
Saturday | Full mock test | 3 hours |
